I.) MetroCon
MetroCon was alright. I can't remember some of it and I'm not going to go into why, but it was still fun nonetheless. I didn't take as many pictures as I usually do. Scratch that, I took plenty of pictures, they're just mainly of stupid stuff or friends doing stupid stuff. Didn't cosplay this time around because of time constraints(mainly me being lazy) but hopefully, I'll have something done for AFO. Would also love to do some photoshoots next con. Let me know if you're interested.
Aside from MetroCon, there's been a bunch of other things going on my life that I feel inclined to write/arbitrarily-rant about, but this won't include unimportant things like school. :3
II.)My first wedding
I actually shot my first wedding the weekend before the con. Some large portion of my time has been dedicated to post-processing those pictures, which in my opinion only came out alright. I did take a decent number of shots, but as far as I can tell, I'm still lacking experience. That isn't to say that they're bad pictures, but next time, I'll be better suited for taking pictures in certain situations. There's some degree of BS involved as well with it because I shot it with someone else I knew, but there's an excess of aggravation on my part due to his lack of intelligence. Long story short, I'm underpaid and he's a dumbass. Maybe I'll give you guys a full story and update when our client makes the final purchases and all is said and done. You guys also get to see pictures.
Next Story: Summer time!
Summer has always been somewhat of a relaxing time for me as I'm sure it is for a lot of you, so I've taken the liberty of making some effort to committing myself to a number of summer projects.
III.)Joystick Project
First off, I want to make a joystick for fighters. I've been playing fighting games for far too long in my life to not have one of these(even though I had one for Sega Genesis and for use primarily with the MK series.) So I want to make one. The only problem with this is time and money constraints. It's a hefty amount of work and hell of an investment for a piece of equipment you use each time you're sat down in front of a tv with a console and a fighter(which for me isn't much time anymore. ;-; ) It also doesn't help that the release of SFIV, BlazBlue, and KOFXII is making everyone and their mother want to a joystick. There's shortages all over the place for joysticks, but not only that, for arcade parts. :< I'd be more encouraged to start this project up if arcade parts were actually available, but since that isn't the case, this is going to be on a temporary hold. T_T
IV.) A woodworking router
One of the things that did come up with the thought of making a joystick was the idea of purchasing a woodworking router. It's handy tool made for hollowing out and shaping wood. It'd be an indispensable tool for creating a joystick, but it's also been touted as the most versatile tool in the world. After giving it a little more thought, it'd be really nice for prop making, and just woodworking in general. If you're a little more curious, google it. This one's being covered by the next paycheck. :3
V.) DS and DSi stuff
Anyone got a DSi? I looked into it some, but there's nothing about them that's super appealing to me. I had a friend tell me a little about hers, but I wasn't exactly sold on it and I don't feel like Nintendo has a big selling point on it. If you can prove me wrong, by all means, go for it. I wouldn't mind forking over some money for a substantial upgrade, but that doesn't seem to be the case right now for the DSi. Instead, I kinda started to love my DS lite more. So much more that I decided to spend some large chunk of change buying accessories and things to mod it with. Hell, I think I'll copy and past my order invoice to give you a brief overview of everything.
Trigram Screw Driver for NDS NDSL and Wii
-I'm going to need this if I decide to open my DS for any reason.(see below)
EZFlash 3-in-1 Memory Expansion Pack for NDS Lite
-Kinda like browser memory expansion, but does a lot more. You'll need it if you want to run a NeoGeo Emulator on your DS like I want to. :3
SSK All-in-One USB 2.0 Card Reader
-Remember that card reader problem I talked about briefly earlier? Yeah.
Full Replacement Housing Case with Buttons and Screws for NDS Lite (Golden + Black)
-It's pretty and I want to be different. :3
Acekard 2i AK2i Multimedia SDHC TF Cart for DSi/NDSi/DS Lite
-R4 is outdated, this gets good reviews, and works with DSi if in the event I decide to get one.
Colorful Stylus for NDS Lite (8-Stylus Pack)
-Shut up it's cheap. X3
I want my DS to be awesomer than any DSi. :3
VI.)Everything else in the summer
The only other thing summer has really been for me is shooting pool. It's my other hobby. I play 8-ball and 9-ball regularly. I just spent way too much money on a new cue that I'm pretty happy with. I'm also trying to improve enough to get on our school's team, but I got some way to go before I'll get to that point. If you shoot, drop me a line and we'll break some racks.
VII.) Future Cosplays
Nothing much else on my mind at the moment. I got 2 cosplays I want to do for AFO, but only one of them seems possible at this point, and even that one might be a stretch, so I'm not about to go off announcing any plans.
VIII.) Bond
Last but not least, any of you ever listened to bond? It's a string quartet made up of hot women. While that may seems awesome in itself, I think it says something if I'm watching their music video and paying more attention to the music than the way they look. You've probably heard the song explosive once or twice, but they got a lot of good tracks. The only reason I'm mentioning this is because despite the massive music collection I have that's primarily anything but country, My ears yearn for some tasty string music every once in a while and I have a great appreciation for it. Check out the links if you're interested. :3
IX.) Yeah I wrote too fucking much. X3
If you're really still here for this last part, congratulations. I'm surprised you haven't quit or said tl;dr, but that's it. I'm probably missing a number of things that I'm neglecting to mention, but that's okay because if you read anymore, your eyes might start bleeding on your keyboard.
Later guys. :3
